After asserting their supremacy in Tests by successfully dismantling South Africa and Bangladesh, Virat Kohli-led India will be keen to do the same in T20Is and ODIs. India’s performance in T20Is have not been very impressive in recent months and they will have a chance to change that in the upcoming series against West Indies, starting on December 6 in Hyderabad.

The Men in Blue will lock horns against West Indies in three T20Is followed by three ODIs. India will be the hot favourites for the series not only because of playing at home but also because of their recent domination over the Caribbean outfit in recent years. India have earned the bragging rights of this famous fixture.

Nothing describes the current state of this old rivalry better than the series that took place this summer. As soon as the World Cup ended, India flew to the Caribbeans for a full-fledged series. There was excitement all around regarding the series as West Indies were expected to give India a tough fight. At the start of the year, West Indies had beaten England in a Test series before drawing the ODIs.

However, it was the same old story as India completely outplayed the hosts. It did not matter what the format was, the Virat Kohli-led side had the upper hand throughout. Barring the one ODI that was washed out, India won all the remaining three T20Is, two ODIs and the subsequent two-match Test series.

After that series, West Indies made a few changes to their team. They named Kieron Pollard as the new ODI and T20I skipper before roping in Phil Simmons as the head coach. The result was there for everyone to see as they recently beat Afghanistan in ODIs to register their first series win since 2014.

India players were seen doing an interesting fitness drill

Only time will tell how West Indies fare against their fancied hosts. For the time being, both the teams are preparing for the first T20I. And ahead of the series opener, India players were seen doing an interesting drill under the supervision of fielding coach R Sridhar. The players were seen running in batches with the front row having colored towels placed on the back of their shorts and the chasing pack trying to collect it.

The video was shared by BCCI on their social media handles with the caption: “What’s with this new drill? Chase or get chased? 🤔🤔”
