Team India, with a tremendous victory over the Aussies completed one of their most successful seasons in Test cricket on Tuesday. The series against Australia was one of the most exciting ones in the recent past and the quality of cricket has been excellent. The season which has marked the Indian team as the best team in the world comprised of convincing series victories over New Zealand, England, Bangladesh and Australia. The Indians have shown their dominance against the top sides in the world as each and every player of the team chipped in with notable performances.

9 wins out of 13 in the home season ensured that the Indian team stayed at the top of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test team rankings on the cut-off date for the year April 1. It has earned the team a reward worth US $1 million along with the Test mace. Indian skipper Virat was handed the Test mace and the cheque by former Indian captain and ICC Hall of Famer Sunil Gavaskar.

In the 13 match home season, Virat Kohli’s men have been on the losing side just once. They have crashed all the teams that came their way and ended the season as the number one team in the world. This performance clearly shows the quality of the new talents that have emerged and their eagerness to step up for the country. Team India now has a lot of young talents in their squad, all of them ready to shine whenever given an opportunity.

The decider is not an easy one to win particularly when you are playing against a top quality side like Australia. But debutant Kuldeep Yadav set the tone of the match with a four-wicket haul in the first innings. After that, it was all India as they managed to restrict the visitors at a low score of137 in the second innings, courtesy good bowling performances by Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. India chased down the required 105 runs well with confidence as KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane combined well to see the hosts past the finish line.
