Amidst all the hype for the upcoming series between India and South Africa, the Kohli-led team continues to practice. Recently, they were seen sweating it out at the SuperSport Park, South Africa. With the first Test between the two sides inching closer, the visitors are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring they’re fully prepared for the mega-challenge.

In a recent video posted by the BCCI, several Indian cricketers can be seen training. While the likes of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul looked in good touch during their net sessions, Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah were seen bowling as well.

The Indian captain in the longest format of the game was seen speaking to the coach Rahul Dravid. Indian batter Shreyas Iyer was seen describing the bouncy conditions, and even mentioned the fact that there was grass on the wicket. Thus, with the way the team has been training, it seems like this tour would be one to remember.

It seems a burden has been removed from Virat Kohli’s head: Saba Karim

Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim feels that Virat Kohli will be in the best state of mind for the upcoming tour to the rainbow nation. With the 33-year-old enjoying his practice sessions, the former wicket-keeper was under the impression that a burden has been removed from the batting maestro’s head. He also said that the batting legend can now play with an open mind.

“It seems a burden has been removed from Virat Kohli’s head. He can play with an open mind now, he can revive his Test career afresh. The expectation is that he will dish out performances like he was doing two years back,” Saba Karim said as quoted by India News.

“If he bats with an open mind and approach, he can repeat those performances. I have full belief that the form he has shown in the practice sessions, the same form will be seen in the match as well,” he added. Thus, despite all the recent controversies, the former Bihar cricketer has backed him to do well in the three-match Test series.

As a matter of fact, the batting machine has a superb record in South Africa. In the five matches in which he has played, he has scored 558 runs at an average of 55.80. This includes two centuries as well.
