Team wise current best batsman in ODIs
These players have been indispensable parts of their team's batting lineup in ODI cricket.
8. Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh)
Tamim Iqbal is the leading run scorer for Bangladesh in ODIs with 6018 runs in 179 matches at an average of 34.98. He made his debut in 2007 and announced himself in that year’s World Cup with a swashbuckling fifty versus India at the Port of Spain, a knock which invariably helped his team to the next round. He hasn’t looked back ever since and kept piling on the runs.
The Chittagong-born batsman also has nine tons and 41 fifties in his kitty. His highest score of 154 came against Zimbabwe, the same match where Charles Coventry equaled Saeed’s Anwar’s highest individual score of 194. Tamim’s upcoming assignment will be his team’s overseas ODI series versus the Windies, which gets underway from the third week of July.
