Ben Stokes’s towering price tag of INR 12.5 Crores has always caused a big dent in RR’s overall purse size and his buyback would only be considered if there’s a sizable correction in his final price. The all-rounder has barely played a full IPL season in recent times perhaps further causing a threat to his overall price value. Irrefutably, skipper Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler & Jofra Archer will be the anticipated retentions of RR thus immaculately making Ben Stokes endure another IPL auctions in his next season.

Even the current most expensive player of the IPL (Chris Morris) will be seen as excluded and would be expected to get restored at a considerable price value. There’s no doubt that his entire proposition has been the only silver lining coming out of the RR camp in the ongoing IPL but his monumental price tag would surely result in at least a temporary exit.

Shivam Dube, who was recently grabbed at INR 4.4 Crores to bolster RR’s overall lower middle-order batting has so far been underwhelming with his bat. Although he has been averaging around 24, his strike rate apparently has not even crossed over 120. All in all, not only his retention chances look unreal but also a potential buyback looks bleak for the all-rounder.
