Royal Challengers Bangalore came up with a special post on Twitter to thank the Mumbai Indians for the warm welcome they received in the city. The warm gesture between the two franchises went viral on social media and it certainly showed the bonding between the two sides, despite them having a big rivalry on the field.

RCB posted a photo on their official Twitter handle, where two billboards comprised of two messages. The first one stated “Welcome Royal Challengers Bangalore, Play Bold Dil Khol Ke”, while the next board stated, “Thank you for the warm welcome Mumbai Indians Chalo Duniya Hila Denge Hum.”

“#IPL is #OneFamily and thank you for making us feel right at home, @mipaltan. See you on the field, we’re always ready to #PlayBold! #IPL2022 #WeAreChallengers,” RCB captioned the post.

The IPL 2022 league games will take place at four venues in Maharashtra, which include the Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), Brabourne Stadium (Mumbai), DY Patil Stadium (Navi Mumbai) and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (Pune). All the teams have gone into separate bio bubbles after three days of quarantine with Covid-19 tests to be conducted regularly.

Royal Challengers Bangalore named Faf Du Plessis as their captain

After Virat Kohli stepped down from IPL captaincy for RCB last year, the franchise has named South Africa’s veteran batter Faf Du Plessis as their new skipper ahead of the marquee tournament. The 37-year-old was picked up by the franchise in the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 7 crore, and he is expected to bring a lot of his experience into the side.

He finished second in the race for the Orange Cap last year and has been one of the most consistent performers for CSK over the years. Along with du Plessis, RCB brought in the likes of Dinesh Karthik, Josh Hazlewood, and Wanindu Hasaranga, as their big recruits for the season.

RCB is yet to win an IPL trophy despite reaching the finals thrice in 2009, 2011 and 2016, and they will have a big task on their hands if they have to make history in this season.
