Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is overwhelmed after receiving a special gift from his former teammate Yuvraj Singh. The southpaw, on Tuesday (February 22), took to Instagram and penned a heartfelt note for Kohli. Recalling his journey from a talented batter to an all-time great, Yuvraj expressed his raw emotions in the post. He also gifted Kohli a special edition of golden boots, leaving the 33-year-old heart whelmed.

As Yuvraj lavished massive praises on the talismanic cricketer, a response from Kohli was on the cards. On Wednesday (February 23), the right-handed batter expressed his gratitude in another emotional post. Remembering Yuvraj’s victory against cancer, Kohli called the two-time World Cup winner an inspiration. He also congratulated Yuvraj for becoming a father for the first time last month.

You’ve always been very generous and caring for people: Virat Kohli to Yuvraj Singh

“Yuvi Pa thank you for this wonderful gesture. Coming from someone who’s seen my career unfold from day 1, it means a lot. Your life and your comeback from cancer was, is and will always be an inspiration for people in all walks of life not just cricket,” wrote Kohli in his post.

“I’ve known you for who you are and you’ve always been very generous and caring for people around you. Now we’re both parents and know what a blessing that is. I wish you all the happiness, beautiful memories and blessings in this new journey. God bless Yuvi Pa. Rab rakha @yuvisofficial,” he added.

Notably, Kohli and Yuvraj have played a lot of cricket together and are also known to share a great bond. While Kohli has narrated many stories of the southpaw pulling his leg, the southpaw never misses out on praising the former Indian skipper. As Yuvraj had publically slammed BCCI selectors for being ‘unfair’ to him, there were rumours of bad blood between the two. However, this emotional exchange suggests their bond continues to remain intact.
