India’s ace middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer suffered a serious shoulder injury while he was up against England in India’s home series in February earlier this year. While trying to keep up a fielding attempt, he injured his shoulder and was ruled out of the entire series. However, in the latest turn of the events, Iyer has come back stronger and has posted a Twitter update to tell fans his current status.

In the post, Iyer thanked his fans and followers for helping him get through his difficult phase. He added that he is fully recovered now and it is the time for his bat to let do the talking. Iyer posed with his bats and he will be seen in the upcoming UAE phase of the Indian Premier League.

“Ready to go out there. Ready to fight. Ready to play Crossed swords Thank you to everyone who’s helped me recover. Time to let the bat talk now,” tweeted Iyer.

It has to be noted that Iyer got injured during the England series and was ruled out of the remaining fixtures. In the same turn of events, he had to miss out on the first phase of the Indian Premier League which took place in India. Iyer was leading the Delhi Capitals till last year and in his absence, another talented youngster Rishabh Pant was given the responsibilities of the team.

However, as Iyer has completed his rehabilitation period after his shoulder surgery, he would be up in the IPL UAE leg that is all set to take place in September-October. Under the captaincy of Iyer, Delhi marked its maiden appearance in the finale of the IPL 2020 which entirely took in the UAE and was won by Mumbai Indians.

In the absence of Iyer, Pant was also doing a great job with the captaincy as Delhi was marching right on top of the points table before the IPL 2021 got suspended in India. DC have 12 points in the eight games they have played so far in IPL 2021.
