India cricketer Dinesh Karthik is celebrating his 35th birthday on Monday. Being around for so many years, he has had very good relations with the players and it was on show on social media. Current and former Indian cricketers flooded the social media to wish the birthday boy and hoped that he has a wonderful 36th year of his life.

Karthik’s famous unbeaten knock of 29 runs off just eight balls to help India win the Nidahas Trophy in 2018 is still fresh in fans’ minds. He came in with the team needing 34 runs in the last two overs and blasted 29 runs including the last ball six when India needed five runs to win. The innings sealed his place in the ODI team as well and went on to play the World Cup last year in England.

Very few have forgotten his catch in the slips to dismiss Graeme Smith as well in the T20 World Cup 2007. It is unfortunate that Dinesh Karthik hasn’t played much despite being around in international cricket since 2004. He has so far played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs and 32 T20Is for India.

‘I hope you’re not blowing batteries’ – Yuvraj’s hilarious wish

Coming back to Dinesh Karthik’s birthday, Rohit Sharma wished him in a memorable way on his Instagram handle. He thanked the birthday boy for hitting the last ball six in the Nidahas trophy. Rohit was the captain then and was delighted after winning the game. “Happy birthday Dk baba. Thanks for that last ball six @dk00019,” his wish read.

Among others, Yuvraj Singh came up with a funny wish for the Tamil Nadu cricketer. He hoped that Karthik isn’t blowing batteries instead of candles on his special day and wished him all the luck for the upcoming year. “I hope you’re not blowing batteries instead of candles on your birthday Mr Energiser happy birthday bud @DineshKarthik God bless! Hope you & Dipika are doing well in these tough times,” his tweet read.
