Though Dwayne Bravo is now not a part of West Indies’ international setup, he ruled the cricket world with his sheer finesse in both departments of the game during his days. Recalling one of those incidents, Bravo recently opened up on a delivery that highlighted his career. It was in 2006 when India toured the West Indies for five ODIs and four Tests. India bagged a terrible result in the ODIs, but defeated the opponents 1-0 in Tests.

India lost the ODI series 1-4 despite starting it on a victorious note. However, there is one match that is still remembered by fans and it was the second match of the ODI series. India lost the game by one run and it was Bravo who bowled Yuvraj Singh, leaving him shocked, as the game slipped from India’s hands.

“It made the world look up and notice that I have one of the best change-up balls in (the) business and it made my T20 career,” said Dwayne Bravo while speaking to The Indian Express.

Just before that delivery, Yuvraj had hit Bravo for two consecutive fours and now it was just two runs needed off three balls. However, during the fourth ball of that over, the Indian all-rounder couldn’t read the variation in pace by the Caribbean and the ball hit the leg stump. It ended the game for India, handing a one-run win to the home side.

The Trinidadian said that the then skipper Brian Lara talked with him about the field setup just before that delivery but added that he still doesn’t know which ball he is going to bowl until he sets his run-up.

“I still hadn’t really thought about what ball to bowl. I am still not clear when I go to the top of my run-up. At some point, before I get to the umpire, I decide I am going to bowl that dipper,” he added.

“Too many, man, to choose one ball as favourite. That Yuvraj ball did change my life,” concluded Bravo when asked about his favourite delivery to date.
