Recently, current team India pacer Mohammed Shami and former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan conducted a similar chat session where they talked about how they are spending quarantine time. During their interaction, the two senior cricketers talked about the young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant.

Shami praised Pant’s talent by saying that it just confidence that he needs. He revealed that the day Pant gets his confidence, he will be very dangerous. “Rishabh’s talent is amazing and it is not like he is my friend that is why I am saying. It is just about confidence, the day he got that confidence, he will be very dangerous,” Shami said during the session.

Rishabh Pant’s place in the Indian side has been the topic of debate for quite some time now. The left-handed batsman has been in and out of the playing XI since the World cup. His inconsistency with the bat has often been questioned.

While several experts have defended him by saying that everyone is putting pressure on the young player, many have argued that he has not been taking his game seriously. A few days back, Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma and former cricketer Yuvraj Singh also defended Pant by saying that the media and everything around him are putting too much pressure on him.

Coming back to Shami’s interaction with Pathan, the duo also discussed about KL Rahul, who has replaced Pant as the white-ball keeper in the Indian team.

“He smashes a lot. His current form is I think his career’s best form. Wherever he is coming to bat, he is playing well. Hope his career continue to proceed like this,” Shami said. “His (Rahul) current form is unbelievable,” Pathan said.
