Gambhir has had an impressive stint in the IPL. He is considered one of the most successful skippers of the high-profile league. He led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to two IPL triumphs in the year 2012 and 2014. The batter has played 154 matches and scored 4217 runs at a strike rate of 123.88 in his IPL career.
Lucknow and Ahmedabad are the two new teams that will feature in the upcoming season of the IPL. Owing to this the mega event will further be expanded to a ten-team affair with more games scheduled for the season. The two new franchises have been given a window from December 1 to December 25 in order to pick the three players ahead of the mega auction.
The existing franchises have already announced the list of their retained and released players last month. A total of 27 players were retained by the existing eight teams.
