The Indian team is all geared up for their Asia Cup campaign, where they face Pakistan and Hong Kong in the group stage. The campaign opener against Pakistan is a special one for former India skipper Virat Kohli as he achieved a major feat in his glorious career. The ace batter became the first Indian player to represent the side in 100 games in all three formats.
The game against Pakistan is Kohli’s 100th T20I and he will look to make the best out of it. Kohli was recently a part of an interview where he opened up about his lean patch, his journey so far, his bond with Babar Azam on and off the field, and his experience of playing the Asia Cup over the years. While everyone has been talking about him, expert commentator Harsha Bhogle was mighty impressed with Kohli as he spoke with an open heart.
Taking to Twitter, Bhogle wrote: “Just watched the entire Virat Kohli interview. Very honest and measured about maybe, putting on the intensity. The last thing you want to be is a parody of yourself. And I am delighted that he said he was blessed to be loved so much.”

The world has always been for him: Bhogle
Kohli, in the interview with Star Sports, revealed how he had to remain strong mentally during the phase, and reckoned that he came to a realization that he was trying to fake his intensity when his body didn’t support him the way he expected, and his mind kept telling him to take a step back and take a break. Kohli did not hesitate to open up about his breakdown and was very honest about it.
“He went through a phase when he thought the world was against him and that he had to prove people wrong. I never got that bit because the world has always been for him; when he was playing by himself at a scary level, and now, when it hasn’t been as easy. I think it is time the tide turns. The game has tested him enough,” Bhogle added.
