The ICC grants Bangladesh permission to get Shafiul Islam in for Al-Amin Hossain: Bangladesh Cricket team player Al-Amin Hossain was in news for being sent home mid way through the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 for breaking the team curfew which was reported to the team by the ICC ACSU. Reportedly, Hossain was absent from the team hotel post 10 pm without the management having knowledge of the same.

Acting on the issue the BCB made a call to ask him to quit the team and make his way back home as soon as possible. Since now they were a 14 member’s squad one short of the mandatory number 15. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has granted the team permission to replace fast bowler Al-Amin Hossain with another BCB pacer Shafiul Islam.

Shafiul has the experience of playing 52 ODIs for Bangladesh and has picked 58 wickets in those matches. He is expected to join the team soon. The team had instantly taken the call to return errant Amin Hossain home after he made an irreparable mistake.

Their last match against Australia was washed by rain and now the team is in all readiness to play against another big team from Asia, Sri Lanka. The match is scheduled to be played between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on the 27th February, Thursday.

Though Bangladesh do not have high stakes on them to win the match, Sri Lanka’s approach will be interesting to see as they were earlier beaten by Zimbabwe in the warm-up matches and won the match to Afghanistan in the final moments, as they are yet to get in a convincing position with their team.

Bangladesh will have to win this game and make their chances of advancing ahead in the tournament stronger.
