Border-Gavaskar Trophy of 2017 has been one of the best test series to witness in some years now. Going into the third test, it is evenly balanced, both teams are pumped up and one is fighting to defend the number one test spot while the other is challenging for the same. The series has been extremely competitive and already had its fair share of controversies too.

After the first test, India came out hard in the second test. They were completely different and were extremely aggressive in the second test. Matthew Wade, the Australian wicket-keeper thinks the same and believes that they expected the team from the subcontinent to be that way. But the way the Indian team took the field was a shock for the Australians.

“They’re always aggressive, The change from the first Test to the second Test was probably the initial shock. They certainly came out a little harder on day three (at Bengaluru), but we expect them to come hard. When you’ve got a caged lion you expect them to come out pretty hard, to get away,” said Matthew Wade while talking to cricket.com.au.

Wade toured India four years back when the Australians were thrashed four to nothing by MS Dhoni led India. When asked about the difference between both the teams, Wade said that the Indians have always been aggressive but the captains are surely different. He believes that Kohli is more aggressive if compared to Dhoni.

Wade said, “Dhoni was a different captain to Kohli, but that’s just personality.” The Australian wicket-keeper was asked about his aggression and personality on the field. He said that he has improved a lot over the years on that front, learning when to use it and when to not.

He said, “Getting older I probably tamed it down a little bit and I probably know when to use it a little bit more now, and when I need it myself.”

Matthew made a statement saying that emotions don’t win test matches and skill has a lot to do with winning. He said “Our job is to make sure they can’t get in the game so they can’t get aggressive with us, and then really take the momentum away from us. But it’s not really our issue. We’ve got to play good cricket and beat them on skill. Emotion doesn’t win Test matches.”
