KL Rahul will lead the Indian side in the 2nd Test match against South Africa in the absence of Virat Kohli. Rahul has also been appointed as the skipper of the Indian side for the ODI series against South Africa as well.

And, former Indian cricketer Saba Karim has stated that appointing KL Rahul as the skipper of the Indian ODI side is an excellent decision. Karim also added that KL Rahul will rule the upcoming decade as well.

Karim also opined that with the kind of work ethic that Rahul carries, the Indian opener will serve the side for many years to come.

“I think this is an excellent decision. I am very confident that not only the upcoming year but the upcoming decade will belong to KL Rahul. The kind of form he has displayed, if he carries on with the same work ethic, he will serve India for many years to come,” said Saba Karim on Khelneeti.

Saba Karim also added that KL Rahul has shown good leadership instincts while leading the Punjab Kings (PBKS) side in the IPL, and is confident that Rahul’s performance with the willow will also improve with him leading the Indian side.

“KL Rahul has shown those instincts while leading Punjab Kings. When you appoint a captain, you need to analyze if there is an improvement in his primary skill. Rahul has definitely shown this while captaining Punjab Kings. That’s why it is being hoped that his performance will get even better with the responsibility of leadership,” concluded Saba Karim.
