'The world is a beautiful place' - Sachin Tendulkar pens heartfelt note to thank a traffic cop for saving his friend

India’s batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has come forward to thank the traffic police while also praising all others who serve the public. He narrated an incident wherein his friend was saved due to timely help by a traffic cop. He further stated that the cop took his friend to the hospital and also took necessary care of her while traveling.

More often than not amidst our busy schedules, we fail to consider and embrace the efforts of people who are serving us selflessly. Tendulkar thus further said that there are quite a few people who go beyond the call of duty and one must take a moment to thank them for their noble deeds.

“Few days ago, a close friend met with a serious accident. By God’s grace, she is better now. However, it was the timely help from a traffic cop, which made the difference. He immediately took her in an auto to a hospital and applied real presence of mind – ensuring her severely damaged spine had minimal movement while traveling.

I met him and thanked him for his help. There are several people like him all around us who go beyond the call of duty. The world is a beautiful place because of such people. When you see such people, especially those who serve the public, take a moment to thank them. We may not know it, but in their own way, they strive to make a difference in people’s lives. Let’s respect the traffic rules and not take short-cuts: Sachin Tendulkar

The former cricketer then also appealed to the people to not take any shortcuts that might cost them their lives. He also thanked the traffic police across the country for their efforts that make sure people are all safe. However, it is to be noted that Tendulkar has more often than not come forward to create awareness about traffic rules.

“To traffic police across India, thank you for your efforts towards ensuring people’s safety. To all of us: Let’s respect the traffic rules and not take shortcuts. It is not worth saving yourself some time, at the cost of putting someone else’s life at risk,” the Tweet further read.
