The Royal Challengers Bangalore moved right to the bottom of the table with their loss at the hands of the Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. The hosts KKR went out to bat first but were restricted to a low score of 131 by the Bangalore bowling attack.

Looking at the quality of batsmen the Royal Challengers have, one expected it to be a cake walk for the men in red. But things do not always turn out the way we expect it to be and Virat Kohli’s men faltered right from the start chasing the target. The team eventually was bundled out for an epic score of only 49 runs by the Knights as none of the batsmen from the RCB camp managed to reach double figures.

But, RCB all-rounder Pawan Negi refused to blame the pitch for their epic collapse and stated that it was just a bad day for all the batsmen. Negi also got out for only 2 runs as he was caught lbw in front of the stumps by Colin de Grandhomme.

“Unfortunately our batting collapsed. There was nothing to do with the wicket”

He also gave credit to the bowlers of both the teams and believes that losing is a part of the game and one has to accept it.

“There’s nothing to do with the pitch but both the teams bowled well. We did well in both spin and pace departments. But then it’s part of the game. One day you do well and on another day, nothing goes your way”

RCB skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed for a duck and was seen complaining to the fourth umpire about the same. Negi, however, admitted that people behind the sightscreen were moving a lot which made it even more difficult for the batsmen.

“It’s nothing to do with the sightscreen. But people behind the sightscreen were moving a lot, causing problems for the batsmen”
