The ODI series between Pakistan and the West Indies was postponed after several Covid-19 positive cases were found in the West Indies camp. And now, the Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Salman Nasser has opined that the postponement of this series will not affect Australia’s tour to Pakistan in March next year.

Nasser added that the security experts of Cricket Australia (CA) have arrived and checked the security measures in place. Nasser also revealed that both Cricket Australia and the PCB will discuss the Covid-19 protocols before the commencement of the series.

“There should be absolutely no impact on Australia’s Pakistan tour. Their security experts arrived here and saw everything which was in place for the West Indies series and I hope they returned satisfied.

As far as bio-secure matters are concerned, both the cricket boards will sit together to decide the protocols before the series,” said Nasser after the conclusion of the 3rd T20I between Pakistan and the West Indies.

West Indies have agreed to return and complete the series: Salman Nasser

Salman Nasser also added that the West Indies were satisfied with the security arrangements in place and have also agreed to come back and complete the limited-overs series. Nasser concluded by stating that the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has been requested to come to Pakistan and play another three-match T20I series to compensate for the financial loss.

“They are satisfied with the arrangements we made for the series and that is why they have agreed to return and complete the series. As regards financial loss, we have requested them to come again for a three-T20 series and hopefully it will be finalised soon,” concluded Nasser.

Pakistan decimated the West Indies in the three-match T20I series, whitewashing the visitors 3-0.
