Naseem Shah, young fast bowling prodigy has impressed the former cricketing greats with his lethal pace and accuracy that he holds while bowling. He made his debut in the first Test played at The Gabba against Australia. And, now the former Aussie wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist has come up heaping praise for the 16-year-old Pakistan fast bowler.

The 16-year-old recorded the speed of 145 plus in his first over and bowled some lethal bouncers that forced the left-handed opener, David Warner, to duck underneath and let it go. However, he took only one wicket in the match but attracted many former cricketing greats.

Ahead of the first Test, David Warner was struggling with the form in the red-ball cricket. But, in the first innings, he looked at his best and played a brilliant knock of 154 runs. During his marathon knock, he never looked comfortable facing Naseem Shah.

It was the young Pakistan bowler, who brought the superb innings of the left-handed opener to a halt. The incident happened in the 100th over, when Naseem bowled a short pitch delivery at a speed of 144 km/hr. In an attempt to play the ball towards the third man, he knicked the ball that directly went into the wicketkeeper gloves. It was also the first Test wicket for the 16-year-old in international cricket.

Later on, following Warner’s dismissal, the former Aussie glovemen Adam Gilchrist took to his Twitter handle and commented on a tweet of Fox Cricket in which he wrote, “Well played @davidwarner31 but geez there’s a lot to like about the kid, Naseem Shah”.

Here is the comment from Adam Gilchrist

It was pretty evident from the comment that the former player was highly impressed by the fashion in which Pakistan bowler has paved difficulty for the Australian batters in the 1st Test.

Earlier, ahead of the 1st Test, the former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar had also said that Pakistan has found a great bowler after a long time. But, he is still needed to be tested in tough circumstances of the game. “As a bowler, I can say that Pakistan has found a solid fast bowler,” the former player said on his YouTube Channel.
