Just a day before the Rajasthan Royals take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Men in Pink were seen discussing who will play at No. 11 for their team. Royals are yet to play a match in the IPL 2022, and they will kick start their campaign on March 29 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

The inaugural-season winners have been facing a title-drought since 2008, as they haven’t been able to win the IPL championship again. The Royals have had a good auction this year as they roped in some big names like Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult, Shimron Hetmyer, and Devdutt Padikkal, to name a few.

‘I’ll happily bat eleven, I like it’, says Trent Boult

In a video shared by the team on their official Twitter handle, Boult, Ashwin, Padikkal and Prasidh Krishna were seen in a conversation as to who will bat at the No. 11 spot. Boult is seen asking Krishna who the competitors are for the position, to which Krishna names himself, the former, and Chahal. Boult expressed his desire to go in to bat at the last spot and said: “I’ll happily bat eleven, I like it.”

Ashwin replied that Chahal is the No. 11 for the team before Boult turned back to Krishna and asked him if he can smack the ball, to which Krishna savagely replied “Better than the two of you, I can”. Ashwin said that Krishna can hit the ball well, denoting a particular height of the ball, and said he could do it better than Boult.

Hearing Ashwin saying that, Boult happily stepped back and asked Krishna to go in to bat ahead of him before the four of them had a good laugh. To continue the conversation about how good the bowlers are with their bat, Boult asked Krishna who was the fastest bowler whom he had hit a six against. Krishna replied that he has never hit a pacer for a six.

The Royals, led by Sanju Samson, will be eyeing to end their drought this year, whereas the Sunrisers, led by Kane Williamson, will be looking to win their third title in the IPL 2022.
