With the rising number of cases of coronavirus patients in India, the government took a massive step on Tuesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to lock down the country for the next 21 days. According to him and the health ministry, this is the only way out. The government has advised its citizens not to go on to the next 21 days and if they follow this, the threat of COVID-19 can be dealt with.

Indian captain Virat Kohli, who is an icon for the entire country, stepped in and supported the words of the Prime Minister. On Wednesday morning, Kohli decided to upload a video on Twitter. In the video along with his wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, the Indian skipper urged fans and citizens of the country to stay home and follow the instructions by the government.

‘It’s a plea to everyone’: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma

In the video, the couple can be seen talking to the fans in Hindi. The video was uploaded by Virat Kohli on his official Twitter handle. The caption of the post was “These are testing times and we need to wake up to the seriousness of this situation. Please let us all follow what’s been told to us and stand united please. It’s a plea to everyone ”

In the video, the couple talked in Hindi and shared the message. “It will take some time to win the war against coronavirus so keep the faith. The most important thing would be your support for the next 21 days. Stay at home and protect your family from the coronavirus. Do not disobey the curfew as it is important to save the entire world from coronavirus. Do not go out or make noise or make groups in public.

By doing all this, we cannot win the war against coronavirus. Believing in any myth will not help us get over coronavirus. So don’t spread any misinformation. One mistake can make us cost heavily. For the next 21 days, India has to stay at home. If you show unity, we can save our country”, the couple said in the 51-second video.

This is not the first time that the couple has shared a message in the wake of the coronavirus threat. A few days ago, they had also shared a message and asked people to stay home and stay safe from the virus.

Fans might have to wait a little bit more to watch Virat Kohli bat again. The Indian Premier League which was suspended until April 15 could now be cancelled after the announcement of the lockdown. The lockdown will go on till April 15 and there is no way BCCI can start the IPL on 16th. There has been no word from the board yet but it seems like the IPL 2020 will be cancelled.
