'They are risking their lives' - KL Rahul donates PPE hoods to CISF personnel at Bengaluru Airport

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul has reached UAE with his Kings XI Punjab squad where he will be leading his side for the very first time. The team is undergoing a mandatory quarantine period before hitting the ground to gear up for the fancy T20 league getting underway from September 19. A thing that needs attention amid all this is, the batsman has a golden heart, and he didn’t forget to display that recently.

The Punjab skipper has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) hoods to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel who were in place at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. The ace cricketer said it is the responsibility of all the people at the individual level to make the CISF feel safe and secure amid the ongoing deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

The people who are forming the major line of defense for civilians while fighting this virus should be taken care of at the utmost level. PPE kits are supposed to be the safety wear that prevents the contamination of virus in the best possible way.

Rahul said as quoted by Bangalore Mirror – “The CISF is protecting us day and night. They are risking their lives so that we can live comfortably. It is not only mine but everybody’s responsibility to make them feel safe and comfortable. This is just a small gesture from my end for them.”

Rahul will be the leading the Punjab side for the very first time and will strive hard along the team to lift their maiden IPL trophy. The matches will be staged at three venues in UAE, namely Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai. The finals will see the light of the day on November 10. The season was supposed to take place earlier this year but got canceled few times owing to COVID-19 lockdown in the country.

After several weeks of discussion and taking in view of various parameters, UAE was finalized as the host nation to stage the 13th season of Dream11 Indian Premier League.
