The Indian cricket team produced a sensational performance in the second Test match against the Joe Root-led England side at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. The Virat Kohli-led side thrashed the England team by 151 runs in the second rubber to gain a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series.

And, former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg is hugely impressed with the Virat Kohli-led Indian side due to their performance against England. Hogg reckons that India are the favourites to win the second cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC), and will cause a lot of havoc as well.

The former Aussie left-arm spinner also reckons that the Indian side has created a positive culture and wants to win every match that they play. Hogg even added that the Indian cricketers are fighters, and can get themselves out of tough situations.

“This Indian team are going to cause a lot of havoc and they are the favourites to take the WTC in the second cycle running. I cannot see another team cracking the code of this culture right now.

What I love about this team is that they are creating a positive culture of a team that wants to go out to win every contest. It does not matter what situation they are in, they are fighters, they get themselves out of tough situations,” said Brad Hogg while speaking on his YouTube channel.

Virat Kohli is creating a fantastic culture: Brad Hogg

Brad Hogg further reckoned that Indian skipper Virat Kohli has created a fantastic culture in the Indian side. Hogg concluded by stating that when he saw the Brisbane Test, he thought it was a one-off performance by the Indian side, but the victory at Lord’s shows that the Indian cricket team is indeed the real deal.

“Looking back at the Brisbane Test, I just thought is this a one-off or are they the real deal? Now this Lord’s Test match shows me that they are the real deal. Virat Kohli is creating a fantastic culture,” concluded Brag Hogg.

The third Test match between England and India will commence on 25th August 2021 and will be held at Headingley.
