Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli is set to play his milestone 100th Test match against the Sri Lankan side at Mohali. And, ahead of the Test match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that fans will be allowed to attend the match, and the stadium will be filled to 50% of its capacity.

This has come as a wonderful news for all the fans, as the BCCI had earlier stated that the Test match will take place behind closed doors. And, the Secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah stated that he has had a word with the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) office-bearers and fans will be able to watch Kohli taking guard in his milestone 100th Test match.

“The decision to allow spectators into the ground is one taken by State Cricketing Associations and in present circumstances, is based on various factors. I have spoken with the PCA office bearers and they have confirmed that cricket fans will be able to witness the historic moment of Virat Kohli playing his 100th Test match,” said Jay Shah in his statement.

Virat Kohli is one of the legends of Indian cricket

Virat Kohli will go down as one of the all-time greats to have taken guard for India in Test match cricket. The 33-year-old batting colossus has scored close to 8000 runs for India in the whites and has scored his runs at a stupendous average of 50.39.

Kohli has also scored 27 centuries in Test match cricket as well and is also the only Indian batter to have scored a staggering 7 double tons in the longest format of the game.

Meanwhile, Twitter was delighted as the fans will be allowed to attend Kohli’s milestone Test match. While one fan stated that he is happy as the crowds will be allowed to attend the match, another eagerly awaits the maestro’s 71st international ton in his 100th Test match.
