The ticket sales for the 5th and final Test match between India and England at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai will be starting from 29th November, 2016 (Tuesday). In a release on Sunday, The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) has announced the details about the season tickets for the Test match.

In the media release, the Hon. Secretary of TNCA, K.S. Viswanathan has stated the details along with ticket pricing. “Season Tickets for general public will be sold from 29.11:2016 (Tuesday) from 8.30 a.m. onwards. The demonetization of the Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes in India has made a considerable effect on the turn outs in the India-England Test series. First Test at Rajkot had poor crowds in the first 4 days despite the fact the venue hosting its first Test. While the ongoing 3rd Test at Mohali continuing its reputation of below par turn up in Tests, the new Test venue at Visakhapatnam, which hosted the 2nd game had drawn good crowd coming in after the home association had maintained a certain number of tickets for free.

It will be interesting to see how the crowd will turn up at Chennai, which will be hosting its first Test match since 2013. In fact, Chennai, which has a reputation of hosting games with great crowds has witnessed just one International game in last 3 years which was an ODI game between India and South Africa in October 2016.
