The Test series between Australia and India was always going to take a lot out of the players and surprisingly the hosts are feeling the heat now. While the tourists are excited to step out for the final Test match, the head coach of Australia Justin Langer has conceded that they are feeling tired at the moment. The home side has no option but to force a result in Sydney as they are lagging by 1-2 in the series.

Langer was all praise about India’s batting lynchpins Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara and rightly pointed out that they’ve been the difference. While India’s number three has slammed a couple of centuries and averages more than 50 in the series, the visiting skipper was always going to be successful Down Under. Kohli averages 46 so far despite bagging a four-ball duck in the second innings in Melbourne.

“At this stage, the difference in the series is Pujara and Kohli, if we’re frank. Pujara averages 53 and Kohli has averaged 46 and got a duck in the second innings. The lesson we learn from that is he just absorbed all our pressure,” Langer said while speaking to the reporters on Monday.

We feel disappointed and tired

Justin Langer was extremely sad after a thumping loss in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG. He supported his boys saying that they got the toughest of conditions in the game and should’ve batted better in the first innings. Though Langer also backed the team to come back strong like they did in Perth.

“It was a really tough Test match. I’ve said from day one it’s going to be a real arm wrestle the Test series and it feels like that. It has been tough, we probably got the worst of the conditions in this Test match and our first innings batting particularly was not up to the work we put into it. We feel disappointed and tired, but we are getting ready to refresh and get ready for the fourth one,” the 48-year-old added.
