The fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has got underway and the tournament’s timing is perfect for the local players either to break into the national side or make a comeback. Wahab Riaz is one of those players who will be eyeing to make it to the Pakistan side with a brilliant performance in the T20 league. He was the part of the 2015 World Cup squad as well and his fiery spell to Shane Watson in the quarter-final is still fresh in the minds of the fans.

Wahab has been playing the T20 leagues for some time now. He was part of the title triumph for the Comilla Victorians in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and came up with a superb bowling effort while defending a total close to 200. Riaz is plying his trade for the Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL now and would look to play in a similar fashion.

Despite tasting success in T20 leagues recently, Wahab Riaz has stressed the feeling of playing for the country is the best and there is no match to it.

Wahab looking forward to PSL

“To play at the World Cup is my main goal and I intend to put in more such performances at the PSL so that I can get the attention of the selectors. As far as playing for Pakistan is concerned, no amount of playing in any league can equal that feeling,” Wahab Riaz was quoted as saying by Pak Passion.

As far as his performance in the first match of Zalmi is concerned, the left-arm pacer bowled an exceptional spell to return with the figures of 2/18 in his four overs. Though his team lost while defending a meagre total of 155 runs after batting first against the Quetta Gladiators at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
