The incident took place in the 2012-13 season of Big Bash League (BBL). There was a heated rant between Warne and Samuels. In a verbal war of words, Warne criticized Samuels for his unsporting behavior at the end of the leg-spinner’s second over in a invective way by grabbing the West Indian by the shirt in illustration and poking his finger in his face. If a man who is a legend of the game and is followed by millions, then it’s a very disappointing advertisement of the sport, indeed.
But, hold on for a second that was certainly not the end. Tempers flared up even more, when in the following over of McKay, Warne fielded a drive by Samuels and flicked the ball at Samuels from close when he was stationed at his crease. Samuels got provoked at such a mind-wobbling behavior and he was seen throwing his bat over Warne’s head. The umpires and players bogged down the situation otherwise it could have left even a more darkening spot on the face of the game. Warne was fittingly banned for a match.
