  • The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is, reportedly, trying their best to host a farewell match for MS Dhoni, who retired from international cricket on Saturday, August 15.
  • Having last played in the 2019 World Cup, the 39-year-old bid adieu to Team India through a post on Instagram where he gave a glimpse of his illustrious journey for the Men in Blue.
  • Speaking on the farewell match, a BCCI official said that they are planning for the game after the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Bangladesh Under-19’s Iftekhar Hossain tests positive for coronavirus

  • The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to host an Under-19 camp from August 23 to September 18 at BKSP.
  • Total of 45 cricketers have been selected for this special camp. The board had divided the cricketers in a group of 15 and they will have to test negative for joining the camp.
  • On Monday, the Covid-19 test was conducted for the players belonging to the second batch at the Shere Bangla National Stadium’s academy building.

  • The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) is unhappy for the fact that Dream11, having stakeholders from China, managed to bag the sponsorship deal for the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
  • The traders’ body wrote to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), expressing their anguish over the matter.
  • Dream11 got the deal after VIVO, a Chinese mobile brand, backed out as the title sponsors after India and China’s souring relationship in the last few months or so.
