They ended with a net run rate of +2.109 courtesy their nine-wicket victory over the Velocity in the second game of the event on Thursday. The Supernovas, on the other hand, were involved in yet another heart-racer. But somehow, they got over the line in Saturday’s game and qualified for the final.

It meant that Velocity, on the basis of an inferior net run rate of -1.869 were knocked out. The Supernovas, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, are the defending champions and know the art of delivering in crunch matches and would want to replicate the same on Monday.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch in Sharjah has been a slow and low one. The track assisted the spinners to a large extent in the day game where Velocity were bowled out for 47. But under the floodlights, batting has been a tad easier because of the presence of dew.

The playing conditions will be pleasant with the temperature around the 29 degrees Celsius mark. The humidity will mostly be in the high-60s.

But she’s only one knock away from finding her form. Supernovas can’t afford to undermine her by any stretch of the imagination.

Chamari Athapaththu has arguably been the standout batswoman of the tournament. In the two games she has played, she has scored 111 runs at an average and strike-rate of 127.58 respectively.

The southpaw got a quickfire 67 and she’s in superb rhythm. The Trailblazers are aware of the damage she can do at the top of the order. It’s also pertinent to note that Chamari can bowl handy off-breaks as well.
