Australia and Pakistan recently locked horns in the Final of the T20I triangular series at the Harare Sports Club. The Men in Green emerged victorious by six wickets to lift the championship. After the Aussies won the toss and elected to bat first, Aaron Finch and D’Arcy Short blazed away and took their team in a position of ascendancy. However, a flurry of wickets ensured that they were restricted to 183.

During the run-chase, Glenn Maxwell nipped out Sahibzada Farhan, the debutant and Hussain Talat for golden ducks to reduce Pakistan to 2-2 in the first over itself. Sarfraz and opened Fakhar Zaman took charge and shook their team out of their funk with a 45-run stand. The skipper succumbed to a run out after which Shoaib Malik and Fakhar put on 107 runs to make the Green Army the firm favorites.

Maxwell’s bizarre actions

Fakhar was unlucky to miss out on his maiden T20I ton and perished for 91 runs. Jhye Richardson picked him up in the 16th over. Asif Ali and Malik scored the remaining runs without much fuss. It was also Pakistan’s highest ever run chase in the shortest format. Following the thrilling match, an unwanted situation panned out at the venue.

Maxwell didn’t shake hands with the opponent’s skipper, which was a tad bewildering. Australia hasn’t had an auspicious time as far as their reputation is concerned and at a time when the likes of Tim Paine are trying to infuse the culture of handshakes in their cricketing culture, the act by Maxwell isn’t expected to do any good to their stature, if not mar it further.

Meanwhile, Twitter is disgusted by the rude act from the Victorian all-round cricketer. Subsequently, they criticized him for his indifferent behavior on the pitch.

Here is how Twitter slammed Maxwell on the act
