The Indian skipper Virat Kohli smashed 34th ODI century of his career in the third ODI of the ongoing series against South Africa in Cape Town. He came out to bat in the second over after Rohit Sharma was out for a duck off Kagiso Rabada and once again ruled the bowlers. He was not authoritative in his approach this time around but batted accoring to the pitch and the situation to extend his dominance over the visitors. However, Twitterati absolutely bowed down to him after he continued to smash records in the limited-overs format.
Kohli survived a leg before decision when he was on a duck off Rabada and played beuatifully ever since then. He first got settled by playing himself in even as Shikhar Dhawan attacked the opposition and then controlled the innings once he was dismissed. He looked scratchy as the pitch was a little bit sluggish and it was tough to score runs off them. But he was never flustered and kept on rotating the strike.\
Chanceless knock from Captain fantastic
Despite the wickets fell at the other end, he kept playing his shots and punished the loose deliveries. His knock was absolutely chanceless and was in no trouble whatsoever. All his shots were played along the ground and he scored only 7 boundaries on the way to his record 34th century in the colured clothing. His supreme fitness allowed him to run singles and doubles with utter ease and never let the pressure get the better off him.
He reached the milestone in the 40th over off JP Duminy with a tuck into the leg-side and soaked in the applause of the crowd. Kohli is looking very good in the middle and will look to play throughout the innings as the coach Ravi Shastri suggested him to play on. India is currently 223/4 after 40 overs as MS Dhoni is also set to launch the assault on the home side.
Twitter was absolutely stunned to witness the consistency of Virat Kohli and hailed him for the umpteenth time in his career.

Three 100s in the last four ODI innings for Virat Kohli and in those three innings he has hit only one six. Still keeps his strike rate around 90. Incredibly smart batsman. #RSAvInd

Virat Kohli has to score a century every time Rohit Sharma fails, so that he justifies his decision to select Rohit Sharma. So, love him or hate him, Rohit Sharma's contribution to the team is immense! #Talent
