Parag Agarwal, who was born in India, took over as the CEO of microblogging platform Twitter from Jack Dorsey on November 29, Monday. It has to be noted that Parag was already associated with Twitter for the last 10 years while working as its Chief Technical Officer. However, the last Monday saw him taking the ultimate chair.

As soon as Agarwal took over the charge, many of his old posts and pictures started doing rounds on the internet and it came to fans’ notice that the new Twitter CEO is a huge cricket fan. Some of his pictures celebrating India’s 2011 WC victory also came to fans’ notice and reflected his interest in the game.

Earlier, before taking the CEO charge with Twitter, Agarwal made sure to thank Dorsey and his team for showing the ultimate trust in him and giving him this opportunity. Dorsey also talked about how the company is ready to move on from its founders and that he trusts Parag deeply with his skills and qualities. Agarwal also added in his note that his team is all set to show the full potential of Twitter to the world.

There is no limit to what we can do together: Parag Agarwal

“Our purpose has never been more important. Our people and culture are unlike anything in the world. There is no limit to what we can do together. The world is watching us right now, even more than they have before. Lots of people are going to have lots of different views and opinions about today’s news. It is because they care about Twitter and our future, and it’s a signal that the work we do here matters. Let’s show the world Twitter’s full potential,” said Agarwal in his note posted on Twitter.

“I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders. My trust in Parag as Twitter’s CEO is deep. His work over the past 10 years has been transformational. I’m deeply grateful for his skill, heart, and soul. It’s his time to lead,” said former CEO of Twitter Dorsey before handling the charge to Parag Agarwal.
