Hardik Pandya made a comeback to the cricket field in the third ODI against New Zealand for the first time since Asia Cup. He was injured in September and missed the Australia tour as well and then was involved in the controversy which led to his suspension. But the all-rounder finally got to play and he contributed on the field straightaway by taking a stunning catch to dismiss the Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson.

In the 17th over of the first innings when New Zealand batted, Hardik was fielding at the mid-wicket position. Williamson came down the track against Yuzvendra Chahal and flicked the ball in the air without the reaching to the pitch of it. It went to the left of Pandya who dived in the air and grabbed a sensational catch.

It was a huge wicket for the visitors as the Williamson has the ability to churn out big hundreds. Pandya made a direct impact on the game and finally, the missing link in the Indian team was completed.

Pandya bowls well

Hardik Pandya was keen on doing well it seems soon after joining Team India. He was introduced into the attack in the 11th over and the pace bowler made sure he kept the pressure on the batsmen with some tight lines. He accounted for the wickets of Henry Nicholls and Mitchell Santner to return with the figures of 2/45 in the 10 overs.

There was no rustiness whatsoever in his bowling and Hardik looks set to travel to England for the World Cup. There was a possibility of him missing out with a chance of being banned for the controversial comments he made on the talk show Koffee with Karan. But the cricketer has proved his worth to the team now and is a perfect number seven for the Men in Blue.

Meanwhile, Twitterati welcomed Hardik back in the team and hilariously compared him with Laakha in the Bollywood movie Lagaan after taking a superb catch.
