Worries in the Australian camp seem to grow as the visitors find themselves hurt by another injury concern ahead of the third Test in Ranchi. Aussie spearhead Mitchell Starc has been forced out for the remaining part of the series for fracturing his foot. Starc follows fellow teammate Mitchell Marsh who has also been ruled out of the tournament on March 9th, his cause being a shoulder injury.

The 27-year-old Starc, who is considered as one of the most dominant pacers in recent history played a decisive part for the Australians in the first two Tests. He stood up with his bat scoring a vital 61 runs in the first innings of the Pune Test which helped the Australians get hold of the steering in the match.

The fiery fast bowler was in devastating form with his bowling too, as he captured the wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli in consecutive deliveries. The left armer’s bowling took a toll on the Indians in the Bangalore Test too when Ajinkya Rahane and Karun Nair were sent back to the pavilion in successive deliveries again by Starc. The bowler who has been a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League has a total of 118 runs to his name along with 5 wickets.

The absence of Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Marsh is surely a huge blow for the Australians prior to the third Test in Ranchi which gets underway from 16th March. With the series levelled at one each the Indians will go into the match full of confidence and the momentum of winning the 2nd Test whereas the Australians have things to worry about. With the ruling out of important players from his squad, Captain Steve Smith now has added pressure on him, considering the fact that he is already in the middle of controversy and has points to prove in the Ranchi Test.
