Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian all-round cricketer, didn’t play the first four Tests when Virat Kohli’s men toured England for a five-match series. However, he was included for the final match at Kennington Oval and he didn’t disappoint. The 29-year-old scored an impressive half-century and also finished with a four-wicket haul in the first innings of the encounter.

Thereafter, he wielded his magic in the recently concluded Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He made a comeback in the limited-overs format after more than a year and he not only picked up wickets but also played some crucial hands with the bat, which also included a vital knock in the final against Bangladesh at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Jadeja weaves his magic

The experienced campaigner is currently playing the first of the two-match Test series against the Windies at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, which also happens to be his home ground. He came to bat after the Indian top and middle order rattled the Windies bowlers. He took charge after leg-break bowler Devendra Bishoo nipped out Rishabh Pant.

He trod the attacking approach and didn’t die wondering during his stint in the middle. He began with a 64-run stand along with skipper Virat Kohli. However, his most effective stand came with Umesh Yadav as the duo added 55 runs in pretty quick time. In the meantime, Jadeja kept pressing the accelerator as wickets went down in a bid to add some crucial runs.

In the fourth delivery of the 150th over by part-time off-break bowler Kraigg Brathwaite, he patted down the ball down to mid on to notch his maiden ton in Test cricket. His last wicket stand with Mohammed Shami fetched 23 runs. Soon after he reached his century, the Indian skipper decided to declare. Following the incredible knock, Twitter heaped praises on him.
