Bangladesh would have been buoyant in the interval between the two innings after restricting New Zealand to a total of 265. Much was expected out of Bangladeshis in-form form batsman Tamim Iqbal who scored a brilliant century against England and was the lone man standing against Australia a few days back.

The hopes of all the population from Bangladesh rested on the shoulders of the left-hander as they expected the southpaw to take the men in green past the 266 and ensure that Bangladesh was still alive in the tournament. But the star from Bangladesh treated us with an anti-climax as he perished the second ball of the innings.

Following the other trend of Champions Trophy apart from the shock and awe, the stars players from every side are scoring a duck. Be it AB de Villiers from South Africa versus Pakistan or Virat Kohli from India versus Sri Lanka, the star players to look out for have disappointed in the second leg of the tournament.

Bangladesh would have hoped that they would follow the prime progression of the tournament also which is the underdogs winning against the favourites. Much like Sri Lanka defeated the Indians yesterday as did the Pakistanis against the South Africans, Bangladesh too would have hoped that they came out victorious against the Kiwis.

However, it wasn’t supposed to be as their main man of the tournament was dismissed the second ball while facing one of the deadliest swing bowlers in World Cricket by the name of Tim Southee.

The wicket paved way for New Zealand going deeper into the middle order of Bangladesh as Soumya Sarkar and Sabbir Rahman both followed shortly after the wicket of Iqbal. Southee picked all the three wickets in the swinging conditions of Cardiff, which created a panic attack all over Dhaka to Chittagong

Let us look at how Twitter reacted to the Bangladeshi reply
