Bangladesh took the initiative to make things happen for themselves on the first Day of the first Test against England at Chittagong. Mehedi Hasan impressed with some impressive bowling on debut as the 18-year old claimed 5 wickets on the day, something that is certainly unprecedented given the fact that he was making his debut on the day.

While this most certainly took the cake, there were a few other uncanny instances that ensured that the day was quite entertaining, to say the least. Moeen Ali was at the center of all this when he was given out by the umpire on five separate occasions. However, in the case of Moeen Ali, the Decision Review System (DRS) came in handy as he was adjudged not out on most occasions.

However, in spite of all this, Moeen Ali impressed with some impressive batting, something was most certainly unprecedented given his obvious predicament with spin. He was one of the few players who managed to get the ball to the fence on more occasions than once and one of the only two players who brought up their half-centuries.

Jonny Bairstow was the other to bring up his half-century as the duo saved the visitors of their blushes something that looked unlikely at the start of play. However, in spite of the fact that the Brits were indeed able to salvage their situation, it was quite clear that Mehedi Hasan had put a break on the visitors.

In spite of this being a Test match with very few fans in the stadium, the fact of the matter remained that there were indeed people watching the game. That said, here are some of the best tweets from the recently concluded day at Chittagong.
