The Melbourne Renegades went ahead and clinched an important win over the Adelaide Strikers at the Adelaide Oval. This meager six-run win comes as an important win for Aaron Finch and his men as they make attempts to revive their season following disastrous outings in the past.

The start was perhaps the only thing that saved Aaron Finch’s side was the fact that they got off to a good start. This start was eventually the one thing that got them over the line and they will have Marcus Harris to thank for all of this. The southpaw slammed the ball to different parts of the stadium whilst ensuring that he smashed an audacious 85.

He was joined in his crusade by Aaron Finch, the skipper of the Renegades while the in-form players such as Tom Cooper and even Callum Ferguson chipped in with some decent efforts with the bat. However, disappointingly, it was the big Jamaican Kieron Pollard who made his way back to pick three wickets in the death and also ensure that the likes of Nathan Rimmington and James Pattinson did not swing their arms.

When the Strikers came out to bat, it was some tight bowling from the wily Tom Cooper who would go on, to begin with, some tight bowling as he had done for the most part.  However, a feature of the Strikers’ batting was that they were able to get starts, all of them. This also ensured that they came within touching distance of the target as well.

Peter Nevill was struck on the head with the trailing bat of Brad Hodge as Finch had to deputize for the injured keeper. It took a mammoth final over from Thisara Perera to ensure that Jono Dean and Wes Agar could not capitulate and lead the hosts to a win.
