India and Bangladesh are fighting it out for 2 points at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium at Bengaluru. MS Dhoni & Co. was put into bat by the Bangladesh, who won the toss in this crucial encounter. The pitch was expected to behave in the same way in did for the match between Australia and Bangladesh and Bangladeshi captain read the pitch beautifully.

India batted first on a pitch that is slow as it can get and tried to gain any sort of momentum. The openers tried their best, but none of the batsmen could hit the big shots that were needed in order to get India to the total they were looking for.

Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli all tried their best to hit boundaries but were only mildly successful. Mashrafe used his spinners and fast bowlers brilliantly and they in turn, gave their captain wickets at regular inroads into the Indian batting lineup and a pretty mellow last 5 overs meant that India could only make 146/7 in their 20 overs.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, started in a big way thanks to Tamim Iqbal’s brilliant hitting. He went after the young Bumrah and hit him for 3 boundaries in an over after he had dropped Tamim off the bowling of Ashwin.

He was given brilliant support by Shabbir Rahman who decided to explode from the start. He was going great guns before MS Dhoni brought on Suresh Raina and he lured Rahman outside the crease just enough for Dhoni to show his magic with gloves.

He waited for the split second where Shabbir’s feet were in air, to whip the bails off and ended Shabbir’s promising innings.

The twitter went abuzz with that and here are some of the best tweets:
