Australia had a humiliating start to the 2nd Test at the Bellerive Oval at Hobart after they were bundled out for just 85 runs in the first innings. In what was supposed to be an attempt at redemption after the heavy loss the WACA, turned out to be a miserable show of cricket. The Australians didn’t saw this coming and look feeble. Philander, who played second fiddle to the young Rabada in the series opener, took charge and produced a brilliant 5/21 to give South Africa a potentially match-winning advantage in the first couple of hour of the Test match.
By the time the first ten overs were bowled, Australia had already lost their top order and were sitting at 8 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. David Warner was the first to depart followed by Joe Burns, Usman Khawaja, and Adam Voges. The middle order and the tail – enders also could not bring any turnaround. Steven Smith happened to be the only one who survived the wicket-taking spree of Philander and Rabada. The skipper stayed unbeaten at 48 and ensured that a repeat of the Cape Town 2011 was avoided. None of the Australian batsmen apart from Joe Meanie, who made 10, could reach double figures.
After a poor start to the day, the Australians need some inspiring bowling show to keep themselves motivated. And, Mitchell Starc ensured that he kept his teammates pumped up. The left arm fast bowler looked determined and didn’t let the Proteas batsmen have it easy, snapping 3/59, including a double in the 19th over. The Aussies maintained good control over the opposition for a while before Amla and Bavuma and later De Kock rebuild the innings.
Just woke up to the news that Australia is in deep do dah.

Sub-100 scores by Australia
1985 – 2009 – 1
2010 – 2016 – 5
Remember when we could play the moving ball? #ausvsa

If you're new to cricket, 85 is a decent score. Not for an entire team of course but an individual. #AUSvSA
