Afghanistan cricket team produced yet another inspiring performance today as they beat hosts Bangladesh by two wickets in a thrilling last-over finish to level the three-match series 1-0. This was a perfect way to avenge the nail-biting 7 runs loss which they suffered in the 1st ODI at the same venue.
Batting first, Bangladesh suffered a bad collapse. After a steady start, The hosts saw themselves tumble down from 111/2 to 141/7 and get further reduced to 165/9 before eventually crumble down for just 208 all out. The final score wouldn’t have been possible without Mosaddek Hossain’s run-a-ball 45.
All-rounders Mirwais Ashraf and Mohammad Nabi were the wrecker-in-chief, claiming two wickets each while leggie Rashid Khan wiped off the lower middle order to make things worse for the Bangladeshis.
Afghanistan, in response, were rocked by the early dismissals of their openers Nawroz Mangal and Rahmat Shah. Bangladeshi spinner led by Shakib al Hasan (4/47) frustrated the Afghans to a great extent. His timely strikes with the ball hindered the chase to a great extent. However, skipper Stanikzai and Mohammad Nabi forged together and took their team closer to the win
The win came mainly through a 107-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Nabi and captain Stanikzai. Both batsmen played wonderfully before departing in successive with Afghanistan 35 away from a win. But Najibullah Zadran played a calm 22 run knock and rallied his side through with two balls to spare.
This is the second time they have beat Bangladesh this year after having defeated them earlier during the World T20.
Don't we forget to acknowledge and appreciate Afghanistan's effort, confidence and the progress. The team has long way to go! ?? #BANVSAFG

Great win by Afghanistan. Pertinent to mention here that last year Bangladesh had series wins vs Pakistan, India & South Africa at home.
