Twitter Reactions: Alex Hales trolls Piers Morgan on Twitter

In-form Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis looking solid in the middle on day 3 of the 2^nd Test between South Africa and England at Cape Town, Alastair Cook decided to give opening batsman Alex Hales the cherry. England were desperate for a breakthrough and thought maybe an out of the blue spell can turn the table in their favor.

Hales, who had never rolled his arms at the international level, bowled a wayward opening over, as the crowd kept up the spirit. Hales began with a loopy delivery, which Amla played on the legside for a single. The rest of the over went without much wood sound, as he managed to keep it silent. Everyone felt that for the love of Test cricket, the England captain shouldn’t give the Nottinghamshire cricketer another over.

TV personality Piers Morgan, who is known to be an avid fan of cricket, took on the opportunity and claimed that he was a better bowler than Hales.

He then posted a video showing how he tricked Brian Lara with his bowling.

Alex Hales then came back with his statistics from the 2nd Test match. He knew his numbers well and went on to troll Morgan.

The English opener didn’t stop there. He even asked former England spinner Graeme Swann about his economy rate in Test cricket.

England bowler Steven Finn was amused by the “filthy” bowling of team-mate Alex Hales too. Hales took three wickets in his first-class career. His best bowling figure is 2/63.
