It was the battle of all-rounders in the third game of the CPL. Dwayne Bravo’s Trinbago Knight Riders were up against Andre Russell’s Jamaica Tallawahs. This game was an absolute spectacle for the fans and provided them with some great delight. Some big hitting was on display and Andre Russell was unbelievable both with the bat and the ball.

The 30-year-old all-rounder first picked a hat-trick in the first innings. Further, he went on to score a century in the chase batting down the order at No. 7 and smashed a few out of the stadium. He remained unbeaten on 121 off just 49 balls to achieve a bewildering feat.

Forces combine to help Trinbago post a massive total

After being put into bat first, the Trinbago Knights lost Sunil Narine early. However, the other batsmen got their act together and it was a complete team effort to help the team post a massive total. Chris Lynn started things off with a quickfire 27-ball 46. Colin Munro and Brendon McCullum followed it up with a great partnership.

While Munro scored 61 off 42 balls, McCullum went on to score 56 off just 27 deliveries. The former wicket-keeper batsman was so brutal that he scored 30 runs off the 19th over bowled by Kemar Roach. However, as the Knights were looking to extend the total as much as possible, Russell applied slight breaks on the scoring rate by picking a hat-trick in the 20th over. The team scored 77 runs in the last 5 overs.

Dre-Russ, you beauty!

Jamaica Tallawahs were to be nowhere in the chase after the collapse initially. They were down to 16/4 in the 4th over and only heading towards an embarrassing defeat. They lost another wicket soon after the power play and lost half of their side. It seemed tough for them to reach at least 120.

But then, Andre Russell decided to take things under his own control. He absolutely unleashed out at the bowlers and was mindblowing. Words would fall short to describe his innings. He terrified the bowlers with his hitting abilities. With some support from Kennar Lewis, who scored 52 off 35, he managed to pull an unachievable task out almost single-handedly. He remained unbeaten on 121 which came off just 49 balls to get his team over the line with three balls to spare.

Twitterati was left in a state of shock watching Russell bat. They drenched him in praise for pulling off the unbelievable and most of the talks about this game were only surrounding him.
