Australia resumed Day 3 from their overnight score of 225/2. While Peter Handscomb missed out on a century as he was run out by Shakib Al Hasan, David Warner went on to score another brilliant century in the subcontinent; his 20th in Test cricket. He scored a splendid 123 runs from 234 balls before walking back to the pavilion.
As Australia closed in on the Bangladesh total, Warner was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman. However, the job was done for the Aussies as they gained a first innings lead. Hilton Cartwright tried to hang on at the crease but he gave a catch to Soumya Sarkar as Mehidy Hasan got them the breakthrough.
This triggered a collapse in the Australian batting ranks. Matthew Wade continued to disappoint as he was trapped in front of the stumps by Mustafizur. Glenn Maxwell who spent some time in the middle playing 98 balls also edged one to skipper Mushfiqur Rahman on 38. Pat Cummins also got out giving Mehidy his third wicket.
Ashton Agar was dismissed in the penultimate over of the day. Australia ended the day at 377/9 with most overs of the day lost due to heavy rains. They now lead by 72 runs with one wicket still intact as Steve O’Keefe and Nathan Lyon will take guard tomorrow. Australia may have ended the day with the upper hand but if Bangladesh manages to set a target in excess of 200 on day 5, it’s going to be absolutely tough for the visitors.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman, both picked up three wickets each. The star of the last game, Shakib Al Hasan got a wicket while Tajiul Islam also managed to get a wicket. Nasir Hossain went wicketless for the day.
Twitter was filled with intriguing tweets. Right from lauding David Warner for a splendid show to trolling Wade for repeated failures. There were some splendid statistics shared, some wonderful insights and more.

Difficult to play..
Difficult to judge..
A wicket in the bag for Shakib!#BANvAUS— Jaanvi ? (@ThatCricketGirl) September 6, 2017
It's a decent but not decisive lead for Australia who have struggled since Handscomb self-destructed #BANvAUS

For some reason, O'Keefe the batsman reminds me of Sadagoppan Ramesh.

2 catches 1 stumping 8 runs 1 wasted review.

Cheeky, but disrespectful to signal OUT while Cummins was walking away. If an Aussie did that, would be an uproar. #AUSvsBAN
