Karachi Kings won an important encounter against the Peshawar Zalmi to move to the top spot on the points table. They started the match on a winning note as their captain Imad Wasim won the toss and decided that his side would bowl first. It was the thirteenth match in a row that the chasing side had won.
Peshawar did not start off well with the bat. Abbas Afridi bowled well to dismiss both the openers in the same over. Captain Shoaib Malik was dismissed on his second ball after scoring just one run. Another wicket fell soon after and the batting side was in deep trouble as the scoreboard showed 69-4 at the end of 10 overs.
However, when the top order failed the lower order proved its mettle. Ravi Bopara top-scored with 58 runs and he was well supported by Sherfane Rutherford who himself scored 46 runs. Amad Butt provided the finishing impetus as he scored 27 runs off only seven balls.
Babar Azam propels his side to another important victory
Some good batting combined with some poor bowling meant that the Peshawar team managed to set a target of 189 runs. Daniel Christian conceded 32 runs in his last over which became the most expensive over in the history of PSL.
Peshawar started off with a bang as Mohammad Imran dismissed Sharjeel Khan on the very first ball of the inning. Joe Clarke and Colin Ingram lost their wickets soon after as the Karachi side were at 43/3 at the end of the first seven overs. However, their key batsman Babar Azam was still there. He coupled with Mohammad Nabi to form a crucial 118 run partnership.
Babar scored an unbeaten 77 off 47 balls while Nabi was dismissed after scoring 67 runs. They helped the side secure a six-wicket win with three balls to spare. The bowlers did not do much even though Mohammad Irfan and Imran bowled economically. Nabi was awarded man of the match for his attacking knock which set up the chase for his side.
Superb all-round performance by Mohammad Nabi. 2 overs for only 12 runs and then 67 off 35 balls after coming into bat with the score at 43/3 from 7 overs #KKvPZ #PSL6 pic.twitter.com/HgqTe5GMVL

Great players overcome their weaknesses and learn to excel in all conditions. Babar Azam is a prime example. He used to struggle while chasing big totals. In this PSL, he's scored 77 off 47 balls and 90 off 60 balls in two 190ish chases. #KKvPZ
