The Bangladesh vs England first Test at Chittagong is all set for an enthralling final day as both the teams will believe they have a chance to secure a win given the splendid manner in which the game is poised. While Bangladesh are just 33 runs short of a historical win England just need 2 wickets to grab the game.

At the start of the fourth day Bangladeshi bowlers rolled over the remaining English wickets in little time to restrict the target under 300 and thus when the Bangladesh opening pair of Imrul Kayes and Tamim Iqbal walked out to bat they were out to chase 286 runs which though isn’t an easy target was within the chasable range.

Alastair Cook having seen the way things were playing for a change decided to start with the spinners himself and England deployed Gareth Batty and Moeen Ali to initiate the proceedings in the second innings. Tamim and Imrul got off to a start but only the latter could carry on and he contributed 43 valuable runs right at the top to give them a firm base in the chase.

The middle order in Mominul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan and skipper Mushfiqur Rahim made valuable contributions but it was debutant Sabbir Rahman who stood up in a difficult situation to assure the excited Chittagong crowd that they wouldn’t return disappointed. He used his limited overs experience to great effect and shaped his innings exceptionally well to give them hopes.

In the last session, England came back well to use the old ball and with reverse swing in effect they reduced Bangladesh to a position at stumps where though they are poised better to win but will still need to apply themselves tomorrow morning to finish it off. For the home team it’s important that Rahman stays and sees off the team home. In all the final day of the Test promises to be a really exciting one as another beautiful day of Test Cricket awaits to unfold.
