India squared off against Ireland in the first T20I of the three-match series at the Village, Malahide in Dublin. Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah's return to international cricket after almost 11 months was the hot topic during the build-up to the series. The pacer, being the most experienced man in the squad, was also given the role to lead the young Indian side. In fact, the visiting team is so inexperienced that Ruturaj Gaikwad, having played less than nine T20Is before this, was assigned as Bumrah's deputy for the Ireland assignment.

Speaking of the match, Bumrah called it correctly and chose to bowl first on a batter-friendly track at The Village. With this decision, the stage was all set for the pace spearhead to lead the bowling attack and bowl the inaugural over of the series, and the visiting skipper did exactly the same. Experienced campaigners Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling opened for Ireland and decided to fire right from the get-go.

With Bumrah's pace on the first ball also being in the early 130s, questions started arising if the bowler had recovered completely. However, to everyone's surprise, Bumrah bowled a good length delivery on the off stump, which saw the batter chop it onto the stumps, as the Ahmedabad-born announced his return in style.

Lorcan Tucker came in to bat at three and played the first couple of deliveries with watchful eyes. However, the batter did something unusual as he went to scoop the fifth ball of the over, and only managed to hand it into wicketkeeper Sanju Samson's gloves. The very first over meant that Bumrah gave India a perfect headstart in the T20I series, and instantly put the hosts in all sorts of trouble.

Meanwhile, 'X' was full of praise for the return of the Indian skipper and welcomed him with congratulatory and joyous reactions.

Here's how 'X' reacted to Jasprit Bumrah's return to international cricket-
