Asia Cup 2022: Super Four, Match 6 – Best memes from IND vs AFG game

India completed a resounding victory over Afghanistan in their last Super 4 match of the 2022 Asia Cup, at the Dubai International Stadium on September 8 (Thursday). Former India skipper Virat Kohli was simply excellent with the bat as he completed his 71st century in the international arena. 

Talking about the match, Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi won the toss and opted to have a bowl first. Indian openers KL Rahul and Virat Kohli came out swinging as they reached the 50-run opening stand within the field restrictions. 

Even after wickets continued to fall around him, Kohli was determined at the crease as he ran hard between the wickets and stroked boundaries at regular intervals. The right-handed batter ended his century drought after smoking a six and completing his 71st hundred in the international arena. Apart from Kohli, Rahul also played extremely well for his 62 while Pant chipped in with an unbeaten 20. Pacer Fareed Ahmad Malik was the only successful bowler from the Afghan team as he took two wickets.

Chasing a 200+ score to win, the batting team required a quick start with the bat, but senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar broke the backbone of Afghanistan batting order as the right-arm pacer scalped the wickets of both opening batters within the first over. 

The chasing team was never able to recover from the blows they received earlier in the innings as they finished on 111/8 runs. Afghanistan middle-order batter Ibrahim Zadran was excellent with the bat as he scored unbeaten 64 runs for his side, but none of the other batters were able to apply themselves. For India, veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar completed an outstanding five-wiclet haul. Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Hooda and Ravichandran Ashwin also chipped in with one wicket each.
